If the parents are citizens, then no matter where a baby is born, that person should be a citizen. However, I don't think that just because the mothers manage to illegally get through the borders should be a reason to be made a citizen.

This is a problem which is going to get worse instead of better because the illegal immigrants in this country are breeding at a much faster rate than previously known. As citizens, these babies are going to place more and more demands on the social services and the school system. Services paid for by our tax dollars, not their parents, who as illegals may not be paying any taxes.

Bailout Bullshit

Why is it that we're now spending time, energy, and tons of money to make sure the people who shouldn't have been able to purchase their houses in the first place, don't lose their houses? People who live beyond their means should not be coddled. They should be punished otherwise how are they going to learn their lessons? Foreclosures on houses, failing businesses, repossessed cars - those are the indicators that should tell you that hey, you're over-reaching and should rein in your spending. But no, instead we're giving them handouts (also known as WELFARE), forgiveness, and not even a slap on the wrist.

When our children blow their allowances, do we just keep giving them money? No, we tell the child to spend more wisely and suggest ways for them to earn additional funds, but we don't keep giving them money. I mean, really. How on EARTH is it even fair, possible, or fiscally responsible to be giving tax refunds to people who don't even earn enough to PAY taxes? Why should they be getting money for doing nothing? Is this going to be another welfare program? Why should MY tax money go to people who don't pay taxes at all? And if they're going to do that, why SHOULD I be compelled to even pay my taxes?

That being said, how on earth are we going to make things right since we cannot depend on our government to do anything but throw money at problems in order to make them go away? What can we as average citizens do to help out the morons who have spent how many years with the heads stuck up their asses?

Going with Obama's divide, I should think that the people who earn at least $250K have a responsibility to continue to spend money. Those people should be going out to dinner, getting that new computer/phone/game system, splurging on their coffees, their lattes, their magazines...

American is a consumer-based economy; we have to continue to consume. That being said, the people under that divide who don't have enough to spend on frivolous purchases should start saving and paying down their debt. They are the people who need to stop spending money beyong their means. These are the people who bought houses they could barely afford and contributed to the mortgage crisis we are dealing with currently.

Consequently, they're probably the same fuckers who get a tax refund.

Litters of babies

It should be socially unacceptable for a woman to give birth to a litter of babies. Eight babies should be counted as a litter. It should outrage people to discover that she was purposefully implanted with frozen embryos and has no job, probably no health insurance, no husband, lives with her parents, and already has six children including a set of twins.

What was this woman thinking? What kind of doctor would be okay with implanting eight embryos? Interviews with doctors regarding this are outraged, no one admits anything, and she’s not talking.

Who gave that doctor their license? How are these things regulated? And if they are regulated, should that process be re-evaluated at this point?

They are ridiculously small, run the risks for tons of health issues, and will probably end up with learning problems as well. No insurance means that in the long run, it is the American taxpayer’s money paying for this health bill. Why is that a good idea? Plus, learning issues means more early intervention special education at the public schools. More tax money spent on special education for children that shouldn’t exist.

Yes, I’m harsh. This is R. I. D. I. C. U. L. O. U. S. The hot topic this week is the "Joe the Plumber" incident in which an average citizen attempted to ask an honest question and the treatment that he's received as a result of it. For one thing, he asked a freaking question, and was respectful in the asking. Because of this, every Tom, Dick, and Harry has been checking into his background attempting to discredit him. It doesn't matter about his background. What matters here is NOT whether or not he owes back taxes or has his license or eats peas with his knife or anything else. What's important is that he asked a question of the Great and Wonderful Oz-ama and is being treated like a bad guy. The person who was questioned is running for president, and although he's not currently DOING the job for which he's still drawing a salary, he's a FUCKING PUBLIC SERVANT! He needs to be asked questions and he needs to answer them. He's not the messiah, people. Quit it.

The real scary thing is that so much emphasis is being put on the Plumber that everyone seems to have overlooked the answer that Obama gave to the question - he wants to spread the wealth around.

So, are you ready for socialism? Because that's what he's saying when he says he wants to spread the wealth around.

A short definition of socialism: "Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism by nature concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital, and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly..."

Runs contrary to and counter to the usual thought of the American dream. I didn't work through college, live in public housing, and get myself off of welfare to turn around and give away everything. I managed to work my way up in the world and so has my husband. I'm not doing the work for other people. Let them do it themselves. More examples of the Democrats taking such good care of people that they don't manage to learn to take care of themselves. Isn't there a proverb about that?

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. You know the ones - they are the ones who aren't as good a driver as YOU are. The other day, I was patiently waiting to turn right, in order to exit a shopping center parking lot. I had to wait for someone approaching who A) did not have their turn signal on to alert the surrounding drivers as to their destination (not that I would have pulled out in front even if they had the appropriate turn signal on, I wait til I see the tires moving, thank you Drivers' Ed); B) was experiencing technical difficulties in executing said turn because they were doing it one-handed due to their other hand holding their CELL PHONE up to their ear; and C) they were not wearing their seat belt.

The train crash in Los Angeles was due in large part to the driver using his cell phone to TEXT someone and didn't see the red light.

A teenager was hit and killed because he was texting and walked out in the road in front of a moving car. Not a driving incident, but still a moron on the road incident.

Can't you wait til you stop the car to have your conversation? Is the world going to end if you wait until it's safe in order to text someone? Lastly, HOW THE FUCK did you get a driver's license anyway?

That part scares the crap out of me. I took my teenager to take the written portion of the road test, and the DMV here in Virginia actually allows translators in order for someone to take the written test. Not sure about where you all live, but the ROAD SIGNS here are in English. You moved to this country; learn the fucking language. My great-grandparents came here in the early 1900's. You think they had a translator to help them with anything? HELL NO. They learned to speak and read ENGLISH. There were neither street nor store signs in Ukrainian.

That was a tangent rant.

Please take a few safe driver's tips from someone who has gotten into one single accident in the 26 years that I've been driving (and that wasn't even my fault - someone walked out in the road in front of the car in front of me, that driver stopped short and I rear-ended them; no ticket was issued).

Don't talk or text on your phone - pay attention to driving. You're operating a several-hundred-pound-possible-death machine - respect that.

Use your FUCKING turn signal - let other people know where you're going; we don't read minds. Plus, it's the LAW in Virginia: Section 46.2-860 of article 6 which describes this form of reckless driving:
Failing to give proper signals - A person shall be guilty of reckless driving who fails to give adequate and timely signals of intention to turn, partly turn, slow down, or stop, as required by Article 6 (§ 46.2-848 et seq.) of this chapter.

Show some courtesy; if you have to merge into traffic, take turns. I know, so easy when you're spouting off to your kids about taking turns, but no, don't take your own advice.

Save your personal hygiene routines (makeup or shaving) for before or after you get in the car. No one cares how you look while you're driving. I do care that you're swerving into MY LANE.

Speaking of my lane - those solid white lines - you're not supposed to change lanes while in those. Nor are you supposed to change lanes in the middle of an intersection.

Finally, riding my ass is not going to make me go faster. I try very hard to keep a few car-lengths of space in between me and the person I'm following as to avoid problems; something else I learned in Driver's Education way back in the day. Don't ride my ass. I have a tendency to slam on my brakes when someone is riding on my ass. Did you know that for the most part, any rear-end collision is the fault of the person hitting the rear? I may have slammed on my brakes, but if you weren't so intent on performing an anal exam on me, that wouldn't have happened.

I probably have more, but this is sufficient for now.

More amusement

The Democrats latest ad compaign is all about making sure Americans know that John McCain is old. I like her a lot. She comes across as a normal, average person with a good head on her shoulders. In reaction to all the media attacks, she went right after all of them one by one. Someone commented that her speech was "negative" but given that she's gotten tons of negative press in the past three days, I think she had every right!

What's starting to piss me off about the media is that they are all going after her as a mom as in "Can she be a parent and vice-president at the same time" kind of attacks. No one, however is questioning the fact that Mr. Obama too has two young daughters and is also a parent. It's almost like they (the media) are really giving every mother who works outside the house bullshit; I'm wondering what the end-result backlash will be.

Sorry to jump on the bandwagon (sort of....)

but really, does the world need this much fucking discussion on the pregnancy of the Republican VP candidate's daughter? First off, what the fuck? Their evangelical christian way is obviously not working. Preach abstinence and neglect to teach about birth control options and look what happens: pregnant teenager. However, as an athiest, my way has worked. My daughter is 21 and hasn't gotten pregnant.

Part of the reason why it worked is that my daughter was smart enough to realize that babies are a shitload of work, time, and a lifetime commitment when she became a big sister at age fourteen and then again at eighteen. Not sure how smart Palin's kid is that she didn't figure that one out. She got a baby sister when she was about ten and then the littlest was born within the past six months (before she got preggers); did no one give her any responsibility at that time so she'd learn a thing or two? Apparently not.

I feel sorry for all of them. I feel sorry that Governor Palin has to put up with having her dirty laundry aired all over and I feel sorry that the kids are being forced to marry while still children. Like THAT ever works well. If the daughter has to be something, let her just be a MOMMY. She has to do that; she doesn't have to get married. That's just a recipe for disaster.

so now I'm racist?

I'm cracking up at that, no, really. Anyone who knows me, knows about my family. The family that includes my two children from a previous relationship who just happen to have an african-american father. I'm caucasian. So they're bi-racial.

Why, do you ask, am I now considered a racist? Because that seems to be the tack that the Obama-worshippers seem to be spouting now. If you DON'T vote for the Obamessiah, you are a racist.

BULLSHIT!

I'm not NOT voting for him because he's black. I'm not voting for him because he has no history, no experience. His voting record is abysmal, his fluctuations on his policies are confusing - what does he stand for now anyway? He seems to change his mind on a poll-by-poll basis.

So no you asshole morons, I'm not a racist. I'm a realist. I want someone with a little backbone, history, and experience in there to attempt to fix things up. It won't be easy, it won't be quick, and I'm sure it won't be painless. The article, titled "Money-losing Senate restaurants to go private" is a big deal. The fact that the government can't manage its own restaurant doesn't make me feel very good about the government managing anything more difficult. Not that I'm saying that's the easiest thing in the world to manage a restaurant. I can see where it would be difficult. But in the grand scheme of things, wouldn't managing a restaurant be easier than, oh let's say, managing social security? Or national security?

"Senate restaurants racked up deficits of $4.7 million while the House received commissions from the operator estimated at about $1.2 million. Losses could top $2 million this year, and the restaurants will need a transfer of $250,000 from the Senate's emergency funds in July to make payroll." Wow - don't I feel like trusting that my tax dollars are being used in a fiscally responsible way.

Why can't they just to go McDonalds like the rest of us?
